Wounded Veteran Event

It was a beautiful Fall day with a purpose at Windber Country Club in Somerset County.

Today wraps up the 13th annual Tee It Up For Wounded Veterans event.

Each year the club takes donations from each round of golf played over a three-day span and donates it to a cause benefiting Veterans,

Over 13 years they’ve raised more than $100,000.

Organizers say they’ve added another $11,000 this year.

“Community, The membership at Windber Country Club. The help of Dennis Brawley just everyone kind of gathers around and understands what it’s for, and it’s a good thing.”

The $1100.00 check you see here is additional money raised by the Pitt / Penn State golf group.

It’s a competitive tournament where fans of Pitt and fans of Penn State play each other every year.

This check in addition to the $11,000 raised from this weekend’s event is going to Veteran Community Initiatives in Cambria County.

And to note team Pitt won this year’s event.
