Second Woman Arrested in School Bus Assault

Authorities with the Johnstown Police Department on Tuesday identified a second woman accused of “brutally” attacking a Greater Johnstown school bus monitor last week.

Police say 34-year-old Kashonda Roberts faces charges of felony aggravated assault and unauthorized entry of a school bus, according to online court records.

On Monday, police announced the same charges against 29-year-old Zaneta McDowell.

Police say both McDowell and Roberts, as well as a third woman, who has not yet been identified, were caught on camera entering the school bus, near Solomon Homes, and physically assaulting the bus monitor.

Investigators say the victim has since been treated and released from the hospital after suffering injuries to her face and head.

Police say following a review of the surveillance video from the bus, Roberts was identified by a confidential informant.

Both she and McDowell were arraigned by Magisterial District Judge Kevin Price.

Court dockets show that both of their bail amounts have been set at $125,000.
