We begin tonight in Cambria County where a fire broke out at Richland Healthcare and Rehabilitation
Richland’s Fire Chief tells us the staff at the center did a good job of evacuating residents
You can see some of them covered with blankets in wheelchairs outside.
Chief Wes Meyers tells us a fire broke out just before 8 o’clock near an hvac unit in the A Wing of the building.
He says crews were able to contain the fire to that room which mainly sustained smoke damage.
Chief Meyers says four people were taken to the hospital out of precaution but no significant injuries were reported.
Meyers credits the staff of Richland Healthcare and Rehab, as well as supporting fire companies in the area that responded.
The fire was contained and no residents are displaced.
