Qualfon To Layoff Half It’s Workforce

A Johnstown call center is in the middle of laying off more than 200 people, according to documentation the company has sent to the Pennsylvania Department of Labor and Industry.

In a process the company began back on January 23rd, 206 people at Qualfon will lose their jobs by March 24th.

In a letter to the Labor department obtained by the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, they cite the unexpected loss of a significant client account that had impacts on their operations immediately and for the foreseeable future.

It comes after Qualfon sought to hire more than 400 people for the Johnstown office last February, citing the site’s growth and success as one of the largest employers in the city.
