Police Officers Recognized At Johnstown City Council Meeting

Police Officers in Cambria County getting recognized tonight at a Johnstown City Council meeting.

The Police Chief of the Johnstown Police Department says some of his officers were recognized for for their outstanding performance when responding to a fraud call and arresting the suspect.

Police say a group of people were brought to justice who were responsible for scamming people out of 1.5 million dollars over a period of time.

As a result, the officers got Letters of Recognition

Here’s what police say you should do if you think you are getting scammed.

“Always be careful when people are asking you to withdraw money from your bank. Don’t trust them. Call the police if you feel any suspicion what so ever just be careful don’t give out any personal information.”

Also passed at Tonight’s meeting was an ordinance prohibiting the tethering of dogs and cats during extremely hot and cold temperatures1

And a resolution authorizing the City Manager to enter into an agreement with the Cambria County War Memorial Authority to manage the Frank J. Pasquerilla Conference Center for five years.
