Pa. Election Readiness

With the eyes of the country once again laser-focused on what happens in Pennsylvania, local and state election leaders said the day before Election Day that it’s all systems go.

Cambria County Elections Director Maryann Dillon said If you’re heading to the polls to vote in-person you may have to deal with lines during peak times.

Acting Secretary of State Leigh Champman said that counties are also prepared to handle anyone who may try to intimidate voters at the polls or attempt something nefarious.

For those still holding onto mail-in ballots, Chapman said you better take it to your election office, or to your polling place to surrender it and vote in person, as it needs to be in the hands of your election office by the time the polls close at 8:00 p.m. Tuesday.

And when it’s time for your vote to be counted, those we talked to say they’ve smoothed out the rough spots from past years to get an accurate count as quickly as possible.

If you have any questions about your registration status, where to vote, or if you notice any irregularities or want to file a complaint, The Pennsylvania Department of State has an Election Day Hotline you can call at 1-877-868-3772. A lot more information is also available on vote.pa.gov.
