We have another update to the Johnstown Galleria involving a fight over what business will now go into the former Sears location.
Owner Leo Karruli said on Facebook that the former Sears location was sold at an auction and the owners want to open a storage facility.
He says the mall needs solid anchor stores like Kohls or Target and not a storage facility.
He also says original agreements from when the mall was created won’t allow for such a business.
“I dont think a storage place is allowed, not for a warehouse or not for a storage place.”
Karruli says he’s been talking with Richland Township Supervisors and local lawmakers and has support for a petition to prevent a storage facility from moving in.
