It was a special day Tuesday for those in the Northern Cambria School District as a groundbreaking ceremony was held to commemorate the start of construction of what will soon be a consolidated K through 12 school.
The project includes building an addition to the existing middle and elementary school building.
District officials say the new building will allow for new classroom space for high schooler’s, specialty rooms for classes like STEM, and a competition sized gymnasium.
Construction is scheduled to begin this winter, with completion scheduled for the fall of 2025.
