Local Woman Arraigned For School Bus Assault

Authorities on Monday released the identity of one of the three women accused of “brutally” attacking a Greater Johnstown school bus monitor last week.

Police say 29-year-old Zaneta McDowell was arraigned Monday afternoon on charges of felony aggravated assault and unauthorized entry of a school bus.

Investigators say a school official positively identified McDowell as a parent of one of their students following Wednesday’s attack.

Police say McDowell and two other women were caught on video boarding the bus, near Solomon Homes, and assaulting the school bus matron.

Authorities say the trio was witnessed punching the victim in her face and head repeatedly.

Police say the victim has since been treated and released from the hospital.

Authorities have not yet released the identities of the two other women involved in the attack.
