County Coroner Jeff Lees says he conducted an autopsy on 25 year old Haneef White Tuesday Afternoon after he was killed in a triple shooting earlier that morning.
He says White had been living in Oakhurst Homes in Johnstown. Lees says the shooting happened in Johnstown’s Woodvale neighborhood on Plum Street.
“The autopsy confirmed he was killed instantly by a single gunshot wound to the head. The manner of death is being ruled a homicide.”
Lees says two others were injured in the shooting. He says white was being transported to the hospital, but died on Maple Avenue.
“Him and another victim were being taken to Conemaugh Hospital in a private vehicle when they came upon First Responders that were actually responding to Plum Street and they met them on Maple Avenue.”
“He was pronounced dead at the scene.”
Cambria County District Attorney Greg Neugebauer says that there were multiple shell casings found on Plum Street and that firearms were recovered.
Lees says the circumstances surrounding the shooting are not being revealed at this time.
“I’m not going to get into the dynamics of the incident itself because its an ongoing investigation.”
