A new program coming to Johnstown will help residents of public housing communities with job training and employment, while also working to remove barriers, like childcare, internet and transportation.
JARI was recently awarded a 2-year, $250,000 grant for the Johnstown Housing Authority to offer residents opportunities to gain careers that pay families sustaining wages.
The Johnstown Housing Authority training and employment program will officially begin in January.
Penn Highlands Community College will provide the workshops, which will be held in the community rooms of Coopersdale, Oakhurst and Solomon Homes properties.
