Authorities with the Calvert County Sheriff’s Office say human remains were found Thursday afternoon near the home of 47-year-old Brandon Holbrook, in Brown Township, Mifflin County.
Officials say Holbrook was charged Wednesday with murder in connection to the disappearance of 51-year-old Joseph Anthony Shymanski, of Huntingtown, Maryland.
Police say the remains have not yet been identified but they are believed to belong to Shymanski.
Investigators say the remains were discovered by a forensic anthropology team, in a wooded area, just a few hundred yards from Holbrook’s home.
Authorities say the scene remains under active investigation and the public is advised to avoid the area.
