Today Trilogy Wellness in Johnstown was offering people free Narcan.
Narcan became more available because of a recently signed standing order that allows pharmacists in Pennsylvania to give people Narcan without an individual prescription.
According to a Trilogy Wellness Representative, more Narcan being available could help the opioid epidemic beyond reviving people who have overdosed.
“And if we don’t keep that available, it’s not going to make the problem go away. These people that are on drugs aren’t just going to stop using them because there’s not something there, so just more people are going to die,
and this is a way to help, maybe give them a stepping stone to get help.”
Trilogy Wellness says it plans on offering free Narcan monthly, but the February date isn’t set yet.
