Authorities have confirmed that one person was killed and three others were injured, including two sheriff’s deputies, after a tri-axle truck collided with an SUV along Route 22 westbound in Ebensburg.
Officials say the crash occurred just after noon when the tri-axle struck an SUV that was turning onto the highway from South Center Street, near the Unimart intersection.
Authorities say the tri-axle then struck a sheriff’s deputy vehicle that was in the opposite left-hand turn lane.
Investigators say one person inside the SUV was killed and another individual inside the vehicle was transported.
Officials say the two sheriff’s deputies were also transported from the scene with injuries. They have since been treated and released.
The condition of the other individual in the SUV is still unknown.
A state police crash reconstruction team was called to the scene to investigate the cause of the crash.
