Tonight at the Dubois City Council meeting, council accepted the resignation of Council Woman Shannon Gabriel.
A few weeks ago, Gabriel posted on her Facebook page that she had notified the acting City Manager and other council members of her intent to step down. Citing personal safety.
Gabriel ran for re-election but a much larger number of write-ins ballots were cast in her race.
The council is now accepting applications to fill that seat.
The new council person will be sworn in at the next meeting in 2 weeks.
Also talked about at the meeting was the city’s budget for the rest of the year.
“Financially we’re right on track, um we’ll have a little bit of a surplus not much but we’re on track to… we will not be on any type of deficit this year at all.”
If you’re interested in applying, you have until noon next Tuesday to do so.
Make sure you submit your resume, to the City Building
