Tonight was the opening reception of a Young Arts Exhibit in Cambria County.
The Community Arts Center of Cambria County and Allied Artists are hosting the annual Greater Johnstown Young Artists Exhibit.
It features artwork from 6th grade through 12th grade from school districts in Cambria and Somerset Counties.
Students who participated had the opportunity to win merit and achievement awards which includes a ribbon and a cash prize.
Organizers say this event gives students a chance to see how they’ve grown from the beginning of the year and allows them to show off their art skills.
“Sometimes art is very under appreciated so getting students to embrace and love art is what we strive to do here at the community arts center, so when we do events like this it kind of hits you right in the heart because we
know that the arts are still alive and well in the Johnstown area.”
The artwork will be on display until May 31st at the Community Arts Center of Cambria County.
Everyone is welcomed to attend.
