This weekend will hold a historic matchup for the Windber Ramblers
In 1937 Windber won their 2nd football state championship by defeating Steelton with a 21-0 shutout
Back then the playoff were held in a different format there weren’t as many classifications or districts
Windber was the number 1 team from the West, Steelton was the number 1 team from the East
This weekend the two will meet again but in the first round of the PIAA State Tournament for class 1a on Saturday at 1
The Ramblers rolled to victory back then hopefully 85 years later the Ramblers will continue to roll on as they compete for Gold
As we wait for that state action a few volleyball teams competed in the State semifinals this evening
Philipsburg-Osceola will face Freeport in the State Semifinals for class 2a
While West Branch plays Sacred Heart Academy in class 1a
