Two Blair County Teachers Suing School District

Two Blair County Teachers are suing the school district they work for saying the school is discriminating against the LGBTQ+ community.

The teachers say the lawsuit is based on a school policy put in place less than a year ago.

The two teachers are not identified in the class action lawsuit only called ‘Jane Doe’ and ‘Jane Roe’ saying they believe they fear severe harm if their identity is part of the lawsuit.

The lawsuit which was filed Yesterday says the teachers were required to remove rainbow colored stickers and flags from their classrooms.

Some of the items had messages about diversity and inclusion on them another was a rainbow pi sign put up by a math teacher.

In the lawsuit the teachers are citing a policy made less than a year ago as grounds for the suit.

The policy prohibits staff from displaying any Flag, Poster, Sticker or any other material that is related to Politics, Religion, or Sexual or Gender Identity.

But the civil complaint argues the policy is not being fairly enforced saying another staff member has the lyrics to a Christian Song outside their door that they have not been
forced to take down.
