The Somerset County Commissioners meeting was held this morning and there was a lot on the agenda.
It was their first meeting since the conviction of suspended Somerset County District Attorney Jeff Thomas who was accused and convicted of assaulting a woman in 2021.
The Somerset County Commissioners suspended Thomas’s salary and benefits in November of 2021.
Thomas was in court in the weeks leading up to his trial arguing that he should get back pay and that the county should not be withholding his $185-thousand per year salary & benefits.
The commissioners are still involved in this now and it’s unclear when a ruling will be made.
