More than 100 hundred golfers turned out on Wednesday for the 7th annual “Pawing it Forward” golf tournament at the Scotch Valley Country Club in Blair County.
The event helps raise money for “Service Paws of Central Pennsylvania,” which helps pay for service dogs and the training required to help people with various types of needs.
“This is for dogs for other disabilities; hearing dogs, seizure alert dogs, diabetes alert, balance dogs, dogs to help people with PTSD, and there so many other medical alert type dogs.”
The organization’s chairman says they’re hoping to raise enough money this year to place ten dogs with those who need the service animal, which would cost more than $100,000.
