State Police in Huntingdon County are investigating the death of an inmate found at SCI Smithfield on Friday.
Authorities say Ronald Clewell was found unresponsive in his cell.
They say prison staff and medical personel performed life saving measures until he was taken to the hospital and later died.
Clewell was serving two to eight years for burglary out of Monroe County.
The Huntingdon County Coroner’s Office will work to determine his cause of death.
