School Bus Matron Assault

Johnstown police are asking for the public’s help in investigating the assault of a school bus matron at the Solomon Homes bus stop.

Authorities say on Wednesday, around 3 p.m., three adult black females boarded a Greater Johnstown School Bus, at the Solomon Homes stop, and “brutally” attacked the school bus matron.

Police say the individuals repeatedly struck the victim in her head and body in front of all the children that were on the bus.

“This is a heinous act that put our children and those working to protect our children in physical danger. These women will be found and charged with all applicable crimes in which they committed. Behavior like this should not be condoned and tolerated in our community and City,” police said in a statement.

Authorities say the investigation is still ongoing and police are asking for the public’s assistance in identifying one of the suspects.

Anyone with information regarding the identity of the woman is asked to contact police at 814-472-2100, or by sending an anonymous tip by testing the keyword JPD to 847411.

Police noted that the victim has since been treated and released from the hospital following the assault.

Police say they have identified one of the three women accused of “brutally” attacking a school bus monitor Wednesday afternoon near Solomon Homes.

The identity of the woman in the picture, however, has not yet been released.
