Authorities say a Punxsutawney man has been charged after he allegedly raped a girl in Clearfield County early last month.
According to a probable-cause affidavit, 22-year-old Hunter Vroman, of Park Avenue, reportedly supplied alcohol to a 15-year-old girl on June 1 at a residence along South 3rd Street in Clearfield Borough.
Vroman is accused of then sexually assaulting the girl.
After the incident, according to the affidavit, bruises were seen on the girl’s body.
Vroman has been charged with felony rape, second-degree felony statutory sexual assault, second-degree felony sexual assault, second-degree felony aggravated indecent assault, third-degree felony corruption of minors, second-degree misdemeanor indecent assault of a person less than 16 years old and third-degree misdemeanor furnishing alcohol to a minor.
He was arraigned Monday before District Judge Jerome M. Nevling, of Kylertown, and was sent to the Clearfield County Corrections Facility in lieu of a $50,000 bond.
A preliminary hearing is scheduled for 8:30 a.m. Aug. 2 before Nevling.
An online court docket did not list an attorney for Vroman Monday afternoon.
