Also in Centre County this morning, members of the Pine Grove Mills VFW held a brief Memorial Day ceremony at the VFW post on Route 45.
The ceremony opened with a gun salute and closed with the playing of taps in remembrance of fallen members of the military, locally and nationally.
The members also held ceremonies at cemeteries in the village, with the local Boy Scouts and Cub Scouts joining the retired military members for services, which included laying flowers and placing flags on the grave sites
of fallen military from Centre County.
