Pennsylvania Sexual Abuse Survivor Legislation

Harrisburg has until this Friday to pass a constitutional amendment however, it doesn’t look likely that will happen. That’s because the House continues to be in flux even over how to govern

adding that the constitutional amendment was added to a Senate bill with other amendments not likely to be supported by Democrats.

That means, chances are slim that it will make it onto the May ballot.

“The average age of disclosure for child sexual abuse is 52 years old. So we’re talking decades after the abuse occurred. And what happens is when those individuals start to disclose and become safe and comfortable to disclose, they’re already timed out of our laws.”
