Multi County High Speed Chase

Authorities are advising motorists to avoid the area of Route 22 in the New Alexandria/Blairsville area due to a state police investigation.

Police have allegedly confirmed that the suspect involved in Thursday’s police pursuit, that began in Cambria County and ended in Westmoreland County, was killed by troopers.

The report states that the suspect was killed along Route 22 near New Alexandria.

We have obtained video that allegedly shows the suspect “livestreaming” the high-speed pursuit through the Richland and Johnstown area; video that was reportedly posted to social media.

Authorities have not released the identity of the suspect.

911 dispatchers in Cambria County confirmed that the incident began at a home near the Dale Borough/City of Johnstown line, just before 2 p.m. Thursday afternoon.

According to Westmoreland County Coroner Timothy Carson, the suspect in the officer-involved shooting that happened Thursday in Derry Township has been identified.

The coroner identified the suspect as Krysten H. Pretlor, a 35-year-old man, from Johnstown.

Officials say Pretlor was involved in a high-speed pursuit with multiple police departments.

Police say they executed a pit maneuver, to bring the suspect’s vehicle to a stop.

Officials say Pretlor failed to comply with the officers’ orders and was shot by police.

An autopsy is scheduled for Friday.

The cause and manner of death will be released after an autopsy and investigation.

Pennsylvania State Police are investigating.
