We have an update now on a standoff in Meyersdale that we first reported Yesterday
Police say Scott Herring is facing a variety of charges after locking himself inside an apartment on Large Street Tuesday Night and threatening to harm a woman inside.
Authorities say Herring also threatened to harm others in the area prompting police to evacuate nearby apartments. The standoff lasted into the early morning hours Wednesday and State Police were called in to assist.
According to a witness, police say Herring was acting paranoid in the days prior to the incident and reportedly claimed that he was being followed.
He’s in the Somerset County Jail on $25 thousand dollars bail
