Local Reaction To Excess Of Philadelphia Fugitives Coming To Johnstown

Three wanted people from Philadelphia have been found in Johnstown in the last 6 to 9 months.

This according to Cambria County District Attorney Greg Neugebauer, who says these cases are keeping authorities busy. “It’s very frustrating.”

“We arrest a lot of people from the city of Johnstown selling drugs and committing crimes here. We find a lot of stolen guns from Philadelphia in the Johnstown area. We find lots of guns stolen from the Johnstown area are showing up in the Philadelphia area,” says Neugebauer.

They include the attempted homicide case of 19 year old Kaheem Coker, the homicide case of Jharon Dockery, shooting suspect Keon Smith, and most recently, escaped prisoner 29-year old Alleem Bordan, who authorities say is a suspected car thief.

Bordan could be seen on CCTV, running from authorities while still handcuffed.

Cambria County District Attorney Greg Neugebauer says these cases keep his department, and collaborating organizations, busy.

“It’s frustrating to be perfectly honest with you. You know, we’re trying to keep our community safe trying to do everything we can. It’s difficult when we have people coming into the area that really have no reason to come into the area, other than they’re trying to hide, or they’re coming to sell drugs.

He says these suspects have the ability to come to our region, in multiple ways, including a direct train route.

Neugebauer also says he is glad to be able to work with other agencies that have access to tools to help them catch these suspects. This includes state, and federal organizations.
