Altoona High School Cheerleader Laura Reed is currently in London to perform in their New Year’s Day Parade.
She is one of eight cheerleaders from Pennsylvania that auditioned for the role at the United Cheerleader Association Camp. This is not her first overseas performance. She also performed in Hawaii last year for the Pearl Harbor Parade.
She spoke with us directly from London about the experience.
“It’s a great opportunity because it can boost your confidence, make a ton of different friends across the U.S., But it’s also something people can look for when getting accepted into college You have a reason to travel to all these different places. If it wasn’t for cheerleading we wouldn’t be here and I probably wouldn’t get a chance to go to London.”
