The Johnstown Masonic Temple held their 5th annual Toys for Tots drive on Saturday.
Toys for Tots is a program run by the marines that distributes toys to children whose parents cannot afford to buy them gifts for Christmas.
The participating marines noticed a shift this year, stating that the amount of families in need has only been increasing compared to years past.
“Compared to last year we’ve noticed about a 50% increase in the amount of children we’re helping About 200 families greater than last year. Despite this we’ll be okay. The community has been awesome to us, we can’t thank them enough. They’re the ones who make this possible.”
