Johnstown Lounge Plans Derailed

The owner of the proposed Crabhouse Lounge tells me he’s shutting down his plans.

But before his announcement on Social Media, it did get the attention of multiple city officials.

They tell us they found out about the adult entertainment and seafood business Yesterday because of Facebook posts that were circulating.

Those posts were made by the man renting a home along Strayer Street in the West End of Johnstown saying the Crabhouse Lounge would be opening May 1st, with Strippers and Seafood.

The Police Chief, City Manager and Mayor all started looking into the plan after finding out and say they had to stop the lounge before it started.

The home is in a residential zone.

“We didn’t see anything come across out desk for any permitting or any licensing so it raised some concerns that if a business is going in we expect them to do things they need to do from a requirement and regulatory standpoint.”

“We have to be cognizant the decisions that we make not only affect us but affect others around us. And especially we have to be concerned about what our children see.”

We talked to the man who had the plans for the lounge.

He didn’t want to go on camera, but says he was only going to sell Seafood platters nothing else would be sold and he viewed it as more of a hangout than a business.

He adds it is now officially canceled.
