Houtzdale Man Behind Bars

State police in Clearfield County say a Houtzdale man is behind bars and faces charges of drug delivery resulting in death in the fatal overdose of another man earlier this year.

Authorities say the investigation into 36-year-old Shawn Soupart began in July when troopers were dispatched to an apartment in Woodward Township for a report of a suspected drug overdose.

Investigators say James William Mosley was found dead inside the residence, located along West Hannah Street, on July 13th.

Upon further investigation, troopers learned that Soupart, aka “Bubbles,” had supplied the drugs to Mosley.

Police say Soupart was later taken into custody during a controlled buy on drug-related charges and a PFA violation.

Authorities say while he was in police custody, Soupart was questioned about the fatal overdose of Mosley, at which time he admitted to supplying him with the drugs that led to his death.

Investigators say an autopsy determined that Mosley died as a result of a fentanyl overdose.

Soupart is being held at the Clearfield County Jail on $200,000 bail, online court records show, and he also faces one count of involuntary manslaughter.
