The Coroner was called to the scene of a multi-vehicle crash in Centre County on Wednesday. The wreck prompted multiple road closures. We were on the scene at Exit 61 off of I-99 in Port Matilda, where drivers were being redirected to exit 52 in Bald Eagle to get to Phillipsburg, due to a crash in Rush Township where two people died. Fire Officials say Route 322 from Port Matilda to Phillisburg, was closed since about 2:45 on Wednesday afternoon.
State Police say there were three vehicles involved and two vehicles went head on, killing both of the drivers. At the time of filming, State Police say those victims have not been identified and the families have just been notified. They say the third driver involved is still alive but is injured.
Phillipsburg Fire Company was called to the 2400 Block of Port Matilda Highway at about 2:45 Wednesday afternoon after a car crash near Thompson’s Curve.
