Dunnings Highway House Fire

Authorities with the Duncansville Fire Department say two animals were lost in a house fire Thursday afternoon in Duncansville.

According to the Duncansville Fire Chief, crews arrived at the residence, located along the 16,000 block of Dunnings Highway, and observed heavy smoke coming from the second story of the home.

Officials say the fire was extinguished quickly but two of the family’s four pets did not survive the blaze.

Authorities say the other two pets were receiving medical care at a nearby veterinary clinic.

The American Red Cross was called in to assist the family and a state police fire marshal is investigating the cause of the fire.
