KC O’Day is joined by Devin Saylor, who recently organized Redd Up Altoona, along with Elizabete Mills, who volunteered with the effort.
Devin told KC he had the idea as he himself was picking up trash in Altoona, and thought it would be a good idea to get more people involved. Elizabete brought her daughter along to help out and said it is important to teach our youths to keep our hometowns clean.
Devin said many community members, including his dad, supported the efforts finanancially and 55 people turned out to help with the clean-up. He plans to continue the project and is planning to create a non-profit organization to best organize the efforts.
