The Curwensville Area School District hosting their 7th annual Reading Under the Lights event at Coach Andy Evanko Stadium.
All students and their families within the district were invited to come out and read together. Student athletes and student clubs from the high school, read books to the elementary school students.
Each student got to choose a book from various subject areas to read, and they were able to take a book home with them.
“Research is really clear that the amount of books you have in your home correlates directly to the level of your reading. The more books you have, the better you are. The better reader that you are. So our goal is to put as many
physical books in children’s hands as we can.”
The district is planning a literacy-geared Trunk or Treat event for later this month.
