A Clearfield County jury has found Glen Johnston guilty of third-degree murder in the fatal shooting of Jude Srock.
Prosecutors argued this week that Johnston shot Srock following an altercation over accusations that Srock was having an affair with Johnston’s wife.
Johnston’s defense continually argued that he did not intend to kill Srock.
After several hours of deliberation, the jury determined that Srock’s death was not premeditated.
“They were trying to convince everyone that this was a premeditated killing and it was not, so we are satisfied that was how the jury saw it as well,” said Johnston’s attorney, Bill Shaw.
Johnston was also found guilty on multiple assault-related charges, as well as reckless endangerment.
He faces up to 40 years in prison on the third-degree murder charge alone.
