Ridgway Borough police have filed charges against a DuBois man after he was accused of sending sexually explicit messages to whom he thought was a 15-year-old girl.
According to the affidavit, police say Dalton Doverspike, 25, is alleged to have initiated contact with the “teen” via Facebook Messenger.
Authorities say the “teen” claimed to be living in the Ridgway area and Doverspike reportedly drove to an Elk County Sheetz in an attempt to meet the girl in order to begin a “sexual relationship” with her.
Police say Doverspike also reportedly sent sexually explicit photos of himself, including a video of him pleasuring himself.
Investigators say Doverspike later admitted to sending the sexually explicit messages and to attempting to contact a 15-year-old girl.
According to online court records, Doverspike was arraigned Thursday afternoon on charges of criminal solicitation, attempted statutory sexual assault, attempted corruption of minors and attempted indecent assault.
He has since been released on unsecured bail.
