Boalsburg Teen Behind Bars After High Speed Chase

State police in Hollidaysburg say a Centre County teen is behind bars, accused of fleeing from police on Interstate 99 while exceeding speeds of 100 MPH.

According to the affidavit, a trooper was conducting radar patrol of traffic Wednesday night, along I-99 southbound, when a silver vehicle was clocked traveling 103 mph in 70 mph zone.

Authorities say the trooper attempted to conduct a traffic stop, at which time the suspect vehicle reportedly “sped up.”

Investigators say the vehicle then exited Interstate 99, at the 17th Street exit, where the driver allegedly failed to stop at the red light and rear-ended another vehicle.

Authorities say the vehicle continued back onto I-99 before pulling over near the Frankstown Road exit.

Troopers identified the driver as 19-year-old George Alonso-Rusinque, of Boalsburg.

Police say another 19-year-old male and two 17-year-old girls were also in the vehicle at the time.

Rusinque was arraigned Thursday to the Blair County Prison on charges of fleeing/eluding police, reckless driving, reckless endangerment and various other traffic violations.

Online court records show that his bail was set at $35,000.
