A 10-year-old boy has died after being pulled from the Stoneycreek River in Johnstown Saturday, according to the Cambria County Coroner.
Cambria County coroner Jeff Lees has identified the 10-year-old boy who later died after being rescued from the Stonycreek Rive in Johnstown Saturday evening.
Lees says Dakota Locher was pronounced dead at the Conemaugh Memorial Medical Center Emergency Room just before midnight.
Authorities say Locher allegedly fell into the river after he reportedly dropped a toy into the water and was attempting to retrieve it.
Officials say his cause of death has been listed as an accidental drowning.
The boy’s family reportedly told investigators that he did not know how to swim.
Authorities say first responders reportedly found the boy in about 15 feet of water at the time of the rescue.
