UPMC National Donor Day

New tonight UPMC Altoona has begun to light up their hospital building this evening with blue and green lights in recognition of National Donor Day

The colors represent the official donate life organization, to raise awareness for organ donation.

The day offers an opportunity to honor and appreciate those who have been touched by donation, whether they have given or received a lifesaving donation, or are still on the waiting list for a second chance at life.

There are currently more than 100,000 individuals on the waiting list for a lifesaving organ transplant, and UPMC Altoona says they will keep the lights on until February 15th.
