Somerset County also was approved to be in the Commercial Property Assessed Clean Energy Program also known as the C-PACE program today helping to promote clean air.
C-PACE is a financial tool to help commercial property owners pay for energy efficiency upgrades.
Leaders of the program say it can help business owners financially while promoting clean energy.
“It could help with reducing carbon in the environment, it can help increase your indoor air quality, and it will reduce energy load for the grid which helps everybody at the end of the day if the grid is less burdened.”
She says the program can also lower energy costs for a property owner freeing up money for them.
Business owners interested in participating in the program can sign up on the Department of Environemental Protection’s website.
