And in Cambria County today a dedication of a new flagpole in honor of the men and women of the city of Johnstown who served our country.
City Officials and American Legion Post 294 worked to have the flagpole and a solar light installed at Roxbury Park.
The event included a 21 gun salute, taps and wreath laying ceremony.
City officials say they plan to make this an annual Memorial Day event.
“Alot of times people forget to honor them and thank them for their service over the years.”
It took nearly 2 years, and $4000 to complete the project.
