In Blair County — the James E. Van Zandt VA Medical Center — held a ribbon cutting on Friday to show off their brand new Operating Room. The new State of the Art surgical space is the third Operating Room at the facility. The Chief of Medical Services says the Medical Center has seen significant growth in Patients over the last few years.
Officials there say this allows them to increase their volume of services and add more specialized providers to help local veterans receive the care they need. Emily Smith-Straesser, Chief Of Medical Services at James E. Van Zandt Va Medical Center adding: “To reduce the amount of time that patients may have to wait before their surgical procedure. additionally, it can allow patients to have more of their surgical care right here closer to home.”
The James E. Van Zandt VA Medical Center offers services in General Surgery, Ear Nose and Throat, Urology, Pain Management, Orthopedic, Eye, Dental, Gastrointestinal, and soon — Gynecological Services.
