Police say the lone victim of this Morning’s shooting in the Moxham section of Johnstown called in the shooting themselves at about 7:15 this Morning telling officials they’ve been shot.
That victim hasn’t been named but officials do say they were shot one time in the abdomen taken to Conemaugh Memorial Medical Center and the injuries are not considered life threatening.
The alleged gunman who’s identity isn’t released yet because charged have not been filed was taken into custody in Downtown Johnstown without incident by Johnstown Police along with the Cambria County Sheriff’s Office and U.S. Marshal’s according to JPD Chief Mark Britton.
Britton says he spoke with the victim at the hospital who identified the shooter shortly before they took the suspect into custody.
Investigators say the shooting happened near the intersection of Park Avenue and Village Street in Moxham where a shell casing and other evidence was recovered.
As the investigation continues authorities are not yet sharing what may have started the incident.
“We do want to let the people, especially the residents of Moxham know that we believe this to be an isolated incident, there’s no threat of anything else occurring with this incident at hand. We believe that we do have the
suspect in custody so there’s no need for anyone to think this is going to escalate more from here.”
And again the alleged gunman’s name has not been released yet because charges have not been filed at this point
But Cambria County District Attorney Greg Neugebauer says charges are expected to come Tonight.
