One Of Two Suspects In Custody Connected To Moxham Shootings

Johnstown police have identified two suspects in connection to Tuesday’s drive-by shots fired incident along Highland Avenue in the Moxham section of the city.

Police say arrest warrants have been issued for 21-year-old Tamir Branham and 20-year-old Makayla Porcher following the latest string of violence in the area.

According to a criminal affidavit, police say Porcher is accused of driving Branham to the 400 block of Highland Avenue — where shots were fired at a home just after 6 p.m.

Police say witnesses identified the suspect vehicle as a white, 2-door BMW with tinted windows.

Upon further investigation, police learned that the drive-by incident was allegedly in response to an overnight shots fired situation at a home along Old Farm Lane in Richland Township.

According to search warrants obtained  Porcher was identified as one of the residents of that home and had reported the shots fired incident earlier in the day on Tuesday.

Investigators say Porcher claimed that she was “hosting some friends” at the residence when there was a knock at the door.

Police say that is when Porcher and the other guests were reportedly “greeted” by the barrel of a gun.

According to Porcher, police say she and the guests quickly closed the door and then immediately dropped to the ground before the unidentified individual began firing multiple shots through the front door.

While no shell casings were allegedly found at the Richland Township scene, police noted significant bullet damage to the door, windows and living area of the home.

Investigators noted that police had been called to the Old Farm Lane residence, for an alleged noise complaint, just hours before the shots were fired.

Authorities also identified Porcher as the owner of a white BMW that matched the description of the suspect vehicle in the Highland Avenue incident.

According to online court records, both Porcher and Branham are facing a variety of charges, including aggravated assault, reckless endangerment and illegal firearms possession.

Police also noted in the affidavit that Branham had a prior juvenile criminal history related to a felony burglary incident.
