Doctors warn the heat can be dangerous if not taken seriously.
Family Physician at Conemaugh Memorial Medical Center Jeanne Spencer says it’s best to do outside activities in the morning or evening when it’s cooler and emphasizes the importance of staying hydrated for those who have to be outside.
Spencer says if someone seems to become confused That could be a sign to seek medical help.
She also says to pay extra close attention to babies, Older people, Or someone with heart or lung disease.
She adds to not forget about pets.
“Certainly cars are dangerous. This is not a time to leave a pet in the car and pop into the store or something. That can get to be really dangerous.”
She also reminds people to use sunscreen and to not be in direct sunlight for long periods if it can be avoided.
