Two people have been confirmed dead following a house fire in St. Mary’s, Elk County, Saturday morning, officials said.
Emergency officials said the call came in around 8:15 a.m. for a house fire with a possible entrapment on Jackson Road.
Officials with the Crystal Fire Department said the house was fully involved by the time crews arrived on scene and that, not long after, the roof began to collapse.
Elk County Coroner Michelle Muccio confirmed in a press release that there were two fatalities.
Muccio said the individuals were discovered after the fire was contained and that they were pronounced dead at the scene.
The press release states that the individuals died from smoke inhalation and that their identities are being withheld at this time.
