Erica Unruh, the first female distiller in Centre County, sticks around with KC O’Day to talk about her recording with the Discovery channel’s show “Mooshiners: Master Distiller.”
Erica received a Facebook message from the television show’s staff because they were looking for more females to be part of the show. She talks about how she took her experience in the recording and also shares how she got involved in distilling as her family has been doing it.
Running a farm in Wyoming, Erica’s family had the ingredients to begin the distillery, and she learned through them. She then came to State College through an opportunity to work at Penn State University and was employed at Barrel 21, where she serves as a distiller.
