Police have charged 6 students with a felony after they say they broke into their high school this morning as part of a senior prank.
East Taylor Township Police say they were called to the Conemaugh Valley High School just before 4:30 am after a motion alarm was activated inside the Library area.
Authorities say the students and an un-named juvenile admitted to placing plastic wrap throughout the school.
Officials learned the students gained entry to the school by leaving one door slightly open.
Police say a District Representative demanded the students be arrested and charged.
All six students are out free on unsecured bail and they also are facing misdemeanor charges.
The Conemaugh Valley School District Superintendent, Shane Hazenstab sent us a statement about the incident saying quote:
“Conemaugh Valley School District is cooperating with the local police on this matter. There are no further comments at this time because it is an active investigation.”
